"The modest Rose puts forth a thorn:
The humble Sheep. a threatning horn:
While the Lily white, shall in Love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright"

When we heard about a local 16 year old girl called Ellie struggling to keep in touch with her friends because of her debilitating disease, Lily's Fund helped out with an iphone so she could use the voice recognition to keep in touch.

All a local lad wanted for Christmas was a new bike, but it's hard when you have had to give up work to look after your child with a brain tumour. It was our pleasure to help out and supply a nice shiny new bike for Christmas morning.

A poorly seven year little girl with a brain tumour was obviously a tug at our heart strings. Every trip into the town she has to go into the Silvercross pram shop to see her favourite red polka dot dolls pram. Her family wanted to get her it as an early Christmas present as she will be having grueling chemotherapy over the Christmas period. We said that it would be our treat but very generously when arranging the purchase, the Silvercross shop in conjunction with Silvercross Heritage, kindly offered to donate it. A big thank you to them.

When Chelsea's caring Aunty Michelle contacted us by mistake, thinking we were a different charity, we were only too happy to help. Three year old Chelsea was suffering from a Neuroblastoma and had many bad days. We sent Disney Vouchers for a Princess shopping trip to cheer her up. Sadly her cousin was diagnosed with the same cancer. Tragically Chelsea lost her fight for life 9th August 2009.
