Helping Hands Lifestyle team from Hedon otherwise known as Olivia Franks and Holly Cutts have had a lot on this Summer. They have been busy with a cake sale, sponsored walk, tombola, raffle and selling donated nail varnishes. Wow how did they find the time ! We are glad they did though, raising a wonderful £446.80. They also raised funds for the RSPCA at the same time. Thanks girls you are stars ! |

A group of friends including Gail pulled out all the stops when they recently conquered the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Having slogged through months of training the bunch of local Mums completed the gruelling walk in 11 ½ hours. They also raised a massive £1252.50 for Lily's Fund, a remarkable feat. A group of health service officials really went beyond the call when they organised a calendar girl style shoot. They sold the resulting calendars and donated a massive £610 to our charity. The first ever 'Mini Lily Ball' helped Lily's Angels raise a brilliant £250 for us, not only that, everyone had a great night. Thats not all Lily's Angels did, they baked and sold buns, planted flowers in the village and all manner of good deeds.

The Fabulous Four Lifestyle team came calling and brought with them a fabulous donation of £300 which they had raised during the summer by doing all manner of fund raising. When Sue Fairclough told us she was going to do 3 (Yes thats 3 !!!) 10k runs in quick succession for Lily's Fund, we thought she must be mad ! Sue is not the type of person to shirk away from a challenge and true to her word, she completed all 3 (in very good times I might add) and raised a massive £302 in the process. Staff and Pupils at Hedon Nursery School didn't send Christmas Cards to each other this year. They also organised other events and we were over the moon when they donated £36.34 to Lily's Fund. It was all the more special because Lily was an ex-pupil of the Nursery. Thank you everyone. |

DS Mike Reed and his team from Humberside Police were recently commended at National Level by the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT). Oct 2008 saw a group of lads from Thorngumbald and the surrounding area, attempt to climb Ben Nevis for Lilys Fund. Dogged by horrendous weather the lads battled on but just failed to reach the summit as it was too dangerous. We were delighted to receive a cheque for £963 from their endeavours, well done lads. |
