logo Instead of receiving Birthday presents for his 60th, Gordon Burr from Aberdeenshire asked for donations from family and friends. He sent us a wonderful donation of £122. Thank you for such a kind and thoughful gesture.
 
Calendar Girls Presentation

A group of health service officials really went beyond the call when they organised a calendar girl style shoot. They sold the resulting calendars and donated a massive £610 to our charity. What a brilliant effort and the most novel donation we have had yet ! A massive thank you to Carol, Tracy, Tracy, Julie, Chris and Helen, well done ladies.

 
ABP Presentation

When ABP Ports recently held a raffle for Arsenal v Hull City tickets, it was won by Darren Gill who chose Lily's Fund as the charity to receive the fantastic £108 donation. Thanks for a wonderful gesture. Pictured is Judie Bratton (ABP Ports) presenting Gail with the cheque.

Barn Farm Public House in conjunction with Barn Farm Golf Society recently held a race night at the pub. They managed to raise an extraordinary amount both for us and 'Help for Heroes' donating a very welcome£300 to Lilys Fund. The first ever 'Mini Lily Ball' helped Lily's Angels raise a brilliant £250 for us, not only that, everyone had a great night. Thats not all Lily's Angels did, they baked and sold buns, planted flowers in the village and all manner of good deeds. Thanks girls, what a fantastic effort. The Fabulous Four

The Fabulous Four Lifestyle team came calling and brought with them a fabulous donation of £300 which they had raised during the summer by doing all manner of fund raising. Spending the day tied together, clearing up horse poo (Uuugh !) amongst other jobs.. A big thank you to team members Georgia Oliver, Eleanor Parkin, Alice Parkin and Becky Morrod, well done girls.

When Sue Fairclough told us she was going to do 3 (Yes thats 3 !!!) 10k runs in quick succession for Lily's Fund, we thought she must be mad ! Sue is not the type of person to shirk away from a challenge and true to her word, she completed all 3 (in very good times I might add) and raised a massive £302 in the process. Well done Sue, an excellent effort x.

logo It's with heavy hearts that we thank the wife of John Spencer who recently passed away. Even going through such a difficult time, she still managed to think of others and donated the proceeds raised at John's funeral. With many thanks for such consideration at what is a very hard time.

Billy and Annie Ridsill put in a lot of effort on a sponsored walk and raised a massive £320. Well done you two and good to see they are following in their dad Jason's footsteps and raising lots of money for charity. Well done, an excellent effort.
 
logo Staff and Pupils at Hedon Nursery School didn't send Christmas Cards to each other this year. They also organised other events and we were over the moon when they donated £36.34 to Lily's Fund. It was all the more special because Lily was an ex-pupil of the Nursery. Thank you everyone.
 
logo Our thanks go to Mike Jordan for his very generous donation of £200. Mike and his family are keen supporters of Lily's Fund but where unable to attend this years Lily Ball due to other commitments, Mike still wanted to do his bit though, thanks for your support Mike.

DS Mike Reed and his team from Humberside Police were recently commended at National Level by the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT). To recognise the excellent work, FACT made a donation of £500 to a charity of the teams choice. Lilys Fund were flattered and honoured to be chosen. Well done lads.

When staff at local company Seven Seas organised a charity 'Girls v Boys' Netball match, Lilys Fund benefited to the tune of £200. A great effort and a lot of fun, a big thank you to Staff and the Management Team at Seven Seas, with special thanks to Karen Ollett.

Oct 2008 saw a group of lads from Thorngumbald and the surrounding area, attempt to climb Ben Nevis for Lilys Fund. Dogged by horrendous weather the lads battled on but just failed to reach the summit as it was too dangerous. We were delighted to receive a cheque for £963 from their endeavours, well done lads.
